Over the summer, fans of Taylor and Kanye were shocked to see that they were feuding once again. The artists have a rocky history which stems from Kanye interrupting Taylor at the 2009 VMA’s where she was accepting the award for Best Female Video. Although it seemed like the two were on good terms, Kanye sings negatively about Swift in the track “Famous” off his new album, “The Life of Pablo.”

Following the album’s release, Taylor claimed she didn’t know that Kanye would be mentioning her in the song. Kanye quickly fired back saying that his team had contacted Taylor and that she approved of the explicit lyrics. The drama continued when Kanye’s wife, Kim Kardashian West defended her husband publicly and even went as far as to post a private conversation between West and Swift regarding her name being used in the song on Snapchat. Taylor later went on Instagram to defend herself, implying that Kim had no right to post what she thought would be a private conversation. In Kim’s defense, she was just defending her husband amidst hate comments from Taylor’s fanbase. All three have expressed their opinions on social media and loyal fans have attacked all sides which only makes the “beef” worse.

Kanye’s fans attacked Swift for lying and Taylor’s fans don’t approve of Kim calling her a “snake.”  Both artists are undeniably talented but will most likely continue to have some bad blood between them. Kanye is quite outspoken and Kim isn’t afraid to fire back. Taylor has said in the past that the duo are cool but through the years and with this new drama, it will take some time to repair the damage.

It’s clear to see that social media has played a big role in lighting the fire.
