Girls Slam Somerset on Senior Night

The Lady Chiefs Varsity basketball team capped off an impressive 2016-2017 season with a victory against Somerset 73-49, finishing 15-8 this season.
Seniors Stephanie Christophe, Kayla Schwingel, Eboni McLaurin, and Angela Andrews walked to half court before the game as they were honored on senior night.
The Chiefs were dominant offensively, with McLaurin and Schwingel contributing to the Chiefs’ juggernaut offense. Schwingel is considered a 3 point specialist and she drilled three’s like she always does.
Defensively, the Chiefs were led by senior Stephanie Christophe, who made her presence felt in the post against the Canyons.
Sophomore Emiah Dowie chimed in on this victory.
“We were very passionate, trying to win this game for our seniors,” Dowie said. “We gave it all we had and came out on top.”
The Chiefs will have a good chance to make a deep run in the post season. The Chiefs play Monday at home 7 p.m. against Spanish River.
