Last week, the media center held activities during lunch to celebrate Literacy Week. Each day, different activities took place which included making bookmarks, playing word games, rock painting, and more. Students were allowed to come during their respective lunch period and participate in the activities Mrs. Moe held. Students enjoyed their week of making crafts that they were able to keep, while celebrating literacy and learning more about reading and writing.
All throughout the state of Florida, schools celebrated literacy and encouraged teachers to read aloud to their students. The basis of this week was “constructing the foundation for success,” meaning that all success is built through reading. One of our favorite crafts was the bookmarks because we loved to see others reading. It’s perfect for when you are ready to break open some books.
Make sure to keep a lookout for more media center lunch activities. If have any questions or concerns please contact Mrs. Moe at [email protected].
