This is Daniel Aguirre, a proud student of Santaluces High School and class of 2028. As a freshman, he is very excited for his high school journey and is looking forward to all the fun activities Santaluces has to offer! I had the pleasure of interviewing him this week, learning more about him and his academic life.
When asked what his favorite subject in school is, he stated that it was science. Daniel loves the different aspects of science and its abstractness. He tells me that, “At first, I never understood science. It was the subject I failed most at in elementary school. But, when I hit middle school, it became very intriguing to me.”
I also asked him what he liked to do in his free time. He stated he liked to help his dad out by working on cars. For example, rebuilding transmissions, motor drops, oil changes, brake changes and more. He also stated that, “I like to help my dad out because when I finish high school, I want to become a mechanic or auto technician.”
For my final question, I asked him what his goals were for his high school year. He responded with this, “I have many goals to achieve during my high school year, but the most important one is graduating. I’ve had a very hard freshman year, a lot of ups and downs, but I never gave up. I kept trying and moving forward, not letting those bumps in the road to keep me from my goals.” He told me that graduating high school is a big thing for him because his parents never had the privilege of having an education and graduating. He wants to make his parents proud by being academically successful.
