Saddle up, Red Dead Redemption 2 is finally here
December 3, 2018
After 8 years of development, the long-awaited Red Dead Redemption 2 is finally available and is met with high praise.
The game scored 7 nominations for the Game Awards on December 6th. The nominations included Game of the Year, Best Game Direction, Best Narrative, Best Art Direction, Best Score/Soundtrack, Best Audio Design, and Best Performance.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is a huge open-world, action-adventure game set in 1899. In the game, you play as an outlawed gang member named Arthur. Arthur wants to strike it big but unfortunately, he is in a time where outlawed gangs are being wiped out to make way for a new more modern world. In the lore of the Red Dead series, Red Dead Redemption 2 takes place 12 years before the events of the first Red Dead Redemption, making Red Dead Redemption 2 a prequel.
RockStar games have an extensive background with huge open-world type games, such as the Grand Theft Auto series, and Red Dead Redemption is nothing short of that. The game sports R.A.G.E (the Rockstar Advanced Gaming Engine), the same gaming engine used for Grand Theft Auto, so the game handles smoothly despite being 100 GB large.
Like Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption 2 as of now has an online multiplayer addition. The online multiplayer is in its Beta phase at the moment, so when you finish the campaign, you can hop right online to play with friends. The good times don’t stop there as Rockstar games are known to release DLCs (downloadable content) in later patches.
So saddle up, Red Dead Redemption 2 is here to stay.
