When hearing about an upcoming Sonic movie, many people around the world were very excited about the wide range of possibilities in how the movie’s story would pan out. Not much was known about it when it was initially announced, so fans were eager to catch a glimpse of the storyline and the look of the iconic blue hedgehog. When the first trailer dropped back in April, fans let out a disappointed sigh upon seeing Sonic’s design.

Due to the faulty design for Sonic, the internet took quick action in insulting his small eyes, realistic teeth, and overall odd features that weren’t natural for Sonic.

In response to the critical comments, Director of the movie Jeff Fowler reached out to fans on Twitter and stated, “Thank you for the support. And the criticism. The message is loud and clear… you aren’t happy with the design & you want changes. It’s going to happen. Everyone at Paramount & Sega are fully committed to making this character the BEST he can be… #sonicmovie #gottafixfast.”

Paramount was met with a ton of praise for actually listening to the fans on this occasion, as many modern companies tend to not listen to community feedback. For the company to make this big of a step to completely redo the model is a huge surprise.

As of November 12th, the Sonic redesign has been revealed in an all new trailer, and it’s all people are talking about. The design looks much more like the regular Sonic that everyone knows, and fans can finally breathe a sigh of relief. The reaction of Paramount to the desire of a remodel is a major success for Paramount, an event that has only increased the level of respect and the overall reputation that people have for the company.

The movie is currently set to be released February 14th, 2020, a date that Sonic fans are sure to be awaiting.
