Graphic of Top 3 Halloween Songs
#3 My Girlfriend is a Witch – October Country
“My Girlfriend is a Witch” really does give an old vibe kind of like folk rock. It also gives an 80s and 70s vibe as well. It contributes through instruments, lyrics, and tone wise which puts out a certain feeling of different emotions. It sounds upbeat and it expresses this feeling throughout the song. Then beat changes during his realization which shows his feelings on his girlfriend as possibly being a witch. This shows how he may think and when the beat changes it shows how fast his brain is moving from even thinking this may be true and even the guitar emphasizes this. So watch out if you know your girlfriend is a witch!
#2 Psycho Killer – Talking Heads
“Psycho Killer” really gives out an old halloween style of music like a 70s horror movie from the instrumental, the tone, and the lyrics. It sounds like a song that would be in a scene of when someone is running away from the monster in the horror movie. Also the vocals that are hit in the song really emphasize the feeling like “oh oh oh oh” and “Ay ay ay ay” really bring great emotion instead of it just being some meaningless Halloween song. How the beats change in the song shows how the emotions change and it creates different emotions like personalities. It creates a fun feeling, creepiness, and a feeling of needing to get away. Maybe you’re the psycho killer and they’ll have to run away.
#1 Thriller – Michael Jackson
Michael Jackson’s hit halloween themed song “Thriller” is one of the most popular Halloween songs. It is usually the first song people think of when they are making their Halloween playlist for the spooky season. The eerie music and the different effects along with the instrumental is what makes it such an amazing Halloween song. His musical notes and lyrics add to the music and it makes it something that anyone can sing to, dance to or even just listen to. Also in his music video he plays a great role with all the effects, costumes and choreography. It is amazing. It is popular because you know it’s a thriller.
