Demi Lovato has done it again.

Her album, Confident, has a sound that’s than anything else she has done before. On iTunes, the description says, “Some albums unfold. Confident unfurls like a flag on a battlefield. Demi goes hard, holding notes with a passion yet unseen.”

Since releasing the song “Cool For The Summer” in July, everyone has been waiting and anticipating what Confident would be like. She has songs about tough lessons she has learned, vulnerable moments, and some pop-EDM. It has a little bit of something for everyone.

Demi has been loved by people all over the world for years, and even more so when she tells the stories of struggles in her life. She has always written her songs to a point where everything she says can relate to almost everyone listening, and this album is no exception to that. It has a different sound, but the lyrics continue to have meaning to them.

Here are some of my personal favorite songs on this album:

1. “Confident”– This song says that it’s okay to love yourself and be happy with who you are, and that you’re a force to be reckoned with.

“So you say I’m complicated
That I must be outta my mind
But you’ve had me underrated
Rated, rated
What’s wrong with being, what’s wrong with being
What’s wrong with being confident?”

2. Old Ways”– This song shows how much Demi has overcome over the past few years. This is a good thing; she’s happier and healthier. Plus, she has this killer song.

“I’m not in the same place
That I was, I was, I was, I was
But if somebody tells me
I’ll go back to my old ways
I’m gonna say no way
I’m out of the doorway
I’m hearin’ them all say
I’ll go back to my old ways
Not goin’ back to my old ways”

3. Stone Cold”–  This song shows how everyone wants to be happy for someone that keeps repeatedly hurting him or her. Hearing this song makes it known that we all can get through situations like that, and with our heads held high.

“Stone cold, stone cold
Maybe if I don’t cry, I don’t feel anymore
Stone cold, baby
God knows I tried to feel
Happy for you
Know that I am redefined
And I understand, I’ll take the pain
Give me the truth, me and my heart
We’ll make it through
If happy is her, then I’m happy for you”
