Watch Out for New Band: Before You Exit

Casey McDuffie, Staff Writer

When Before You Exit came into my life, everything changed.

I have been lucky enough to know them and being able to call them friends of mine. They have grown not only as people but as artists as well. They’re such amazing artists and they deserve so much more credit then they actually get.

The Before You Exit boys are from Orlando, Florida. The band contains brothers Connor, Riley and Toby McDonough. They started the band in 2007 with only Connor McDonough, Braiden Wood and Thomas Silvers. In 2008, they brought in Connor’s younger brother Riley. Then, in mid 2012, they brought the youngest of the McDonough brothers, Toby. Him coming into the band changed Before You Exit, making Braiden and Thomas live members of the band only.

The success of Before You Exit [BYE] just keeps expanding. They’ve even gone on tour with seven other artists and bands: bands like All Time Low, Allstar Weekend, Action Item and The Vamps, and artists Olly Murs and Cody Simpson, and Fifth Harmony.

On April 28, 2014, Before You Exit was selected to compete in the annual Macy’s iHeartRadio Rising Star contest. Since they won the contest, they flew out to Las Vegas to perform in the annual iHeartRadio Music Festival and they were one of the last floats on the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

The band is huge in not only Europe, but the Philippines as well. This is why they have gone to the Philippines so many times in the past two and a half years, and in 2015, they toured Europe with Christina Grimmie.

One of the biggest changes in the bands history was when they signed to RCA Records in the summer of 2015. The moment not only they have been waiting for, but the fans have been waiting for them to finally be recognized for the amazing band that they are.

I, as a fan and a friend, am so proud of them and all that they’ve accomplished.
