The Hype of After-Parties

Jordan Cruz, Staff Writer/Staff Guru

Homecoming and Prom night are two of the biggest nights for high school seniors. While the dance itself will always be a night to remember and a memory you and your friends will forever hold, the after events are arguably just as significant. Parties are advertised all over social media, but the question is are they worth attending?

I, myself, am no stranger to high school parties. In my honest opinion, I feel that the setting and atmosphere is more directed towards different types of people. Without a doubt, going with a group of friends will always be a great time.

There are many different types of parties, and there is this stigma that a high school party necessarily means underage drinking, drugs, and other illegal activities. When you have a group of responsible friends, these activities are unnecessary. A good time can be achieved by simply doing activities such as dancing, playing games, watching movies, or simply talking and sharing memories. Loud music, heavy dancing, and sweaty people all over don’t seem to add up to a great time.

Bottom line, you don’t need to follow what the majority of high schoolers involve themselves in; and if you have a bad feeling that the situation will not be safe, DO NOT GO, THERE ARE PLENTY OF OTHER OPTIONS!
