Recap of the Best Dressed

CFDA/Vouge Fashion Fund

Faith Beaubrun, Fashion Editor

It’s surprising to realize that the CFDA (the Council of Fashion Designers of America Inc.) is not just buzzing once a year with its revolutionizing MET Galas but that the committee is busy all year around.  The 2017 CFDA/Vouge Fashion Fund is an annual competition of up-and-coming designers for monetary prizes. There is a star-studded dinner of fashion’s elite where the winner is announced, but before the main event the red carpet is filled with fashion’s most influential. Here are my picks for the best dressed of the night:

Ashley Graham

Ashley looks sleek and sophisticated in this peek-a-boo shoulder dress.

Aurora James

This look is fun and youthful with its denim jacket and whimsical blush tone dress, and also can be recreated by any high schooler.

Gabrielle Union

Union looks like she means business in this long, glittery, metallic jacket paired with a mesh top and cropped black slacks.

Imaan Hammam

The Dutch model is my pick for best dressed. Imaan wore a head-to-toes dark denim jumper with embroidery roses. What took the look to the next level was the matching mesh train.

Kasia Struss

Struss looks cool in this elegant spin on street-style. This layered look is edgy with its asymmetric reflective dress on top of bell-bottomed pants.

Paloma Elsesser

Paloma is striking is this bright neon silk two piece set.

Selah Marley

The daughter of Erykah Badu is making a name for herself  with this simple yet futuristic look. The one-shoulder fitted dress and white pointed mule shoes and matching bag all work together nicely.
