J&P Latin Cuisine is a new, small,  and family-owned restaurant in Greenacres that serves a variety of Colombian dishes. As soon as I walked in, the restaurant’s ambiance was cozy and gave off family-friendly vibes. They have a rustic theme and unique wooden menus. However, when I walked in I was not greeted immediately and was told to find my own table. This could be due to a large family celebrating, however no matter what the circumstances … good costumer service is always a must. When our server came (a different lady) she was so amiable and very attentive. My food came quickly even though there was heavy traffic.

Now, to the good stuff, the food. I ordered a very popular and traditional Colombian Dish named “Bandeja Paisa.” A Bandeja Paisa consists of red beans, white rice, ground meat, chicharon (fried pork fat), fried egg, fried plantains, chorizo, arepa, and avocado. The dish’s different ingredients made a beautiful combination. It was clear the food was freshly prepared by someone who knows what they are doing. The beef was mouth-watering and cooked to perfection; usually it is over cooked or under cooked at other places. The chorizo was soft and juicy. The chicharon was crispy and had a nice color to it. The overall appearance of the plate was gratifying. Everything was presented nicely. After all no one wants to eat something that looks bad.

J&P Latin Cuisine gets the No Sugar Coating seal of approval. Besides the very small costumer service issue, everything was great. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone searching for a new spot or someone curious to try wonderful Colombian food.
