Campus Tour: SEU
October 14, 2019
Home of the Fire, Southeastern University is a ‘Christ-centered’ Christian college located in Lakeland, Florida. Founded in 1935 in New Brockton, Alabama, the institution has expanded greatly and continues to do so. Focused on the success of its students, SEU offers over 70 undergraduate and graduate programs. Its small classrooms allow students to experience interactive learning while getting to know their professors.
Santaluces Alumni, Karla Portillo, is in her Senior year at SEU with a degree in nursing. She remarks, “Attending SEU has brought so many opportunities for me. Their student involvement and activities really bring all of the students together as a Fire family.”
SEU preview days begin October 25 and will continue through October 28, November 22, January 24, February 21, March 18, and April 3.
As for the admissions process, the application has already opened. They require first-year students to send in High School and College transcripts if applicable, SAT or ACT scores, a Christian Character Reference, and a required essay. As told by one of the admissions counselors, they do not tend to focus a lot on the SAT and ACT scores. It is only a supplemental requirement, not an important factor in their college admission.
