Santaluces Tightens Up Security

Friday was Santaluces’ first home football game since the shooting at Palm Beach Central high. The Palm Beach County School district decided to implement new rules at all high school football games. The following rules apply:

  • No purses or wristlets
  • No entry after half time
  • Clear bags only
  • No re-entry
  • No wandering
  • Games start at 6pm

Santaluces had double the security at Friday’s game against Forest Hill. Three security officers stood at the gates looking out for bags, searching pockets and wanding students, parents and teachers. This created longer entrance lines causing some students to miss the kickoff. However, some said that the long entrance line was worth it for their safety,

“Although the line to get in was really long, I felt more comfortable and safe going to the game with all the security,” said Milica Markovic.
