The warm aroma of fried Oreos and fresh baked cinnamon rolls. The anxious fun of all the twists and turns of rides. The face painting, airbrushed t-shirts, and endless variety of accessories that brush the feeling of nostalgia over you. The South Florida Fair is back.

Contrary to its reputation, the fair provides endless ways to have fun. From roller roasters, to ferris wheels, to the intimidating glare of the Zipper.

If you’re not so much of a “ride” person, the food menu may be enough to seal the deal. The South Florida fair is known for its food options, that convince you it’s okay to throw your diet and rationality out the window for at least one day a year. Almost any food you can imagine is served deep-fried, from pickles to Snicker’s bars to ice cream. The famous Krispy Kreme Donut Burger, which includes an all-beef patty with bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomato in between two glazed Krispy Kreme donuts, appears to be a week’s worth of calories and nevertheless worth trying.

Whatever it may be, the fair is a timeless experience that is definitely much cheaper than Universal Studios or Disney World and is a much shorter commute.

The tickets go on sale January 15 and there are several discount offers you can find online and at stores like Publix. The fair will be in town from January 16-February 1.
