Fashion Club Struts Back Into Santaluces

Ilisha Strassler, Staff Writer

Two years ago Santaluces had a Fashion Academy, but due to expenses and lack of members, it was cancelled. Students like Sergio Lopez, Angela Miranda and Valeria Felix have still shown interest in fashion, and decided to start the Fashion Club. Fashion Club has been planned since last year.

“The meeting was really fun,” said Melissa Charles, a junior. “The club is really unique.”

The Fashion Club will meet every other Thursday in room 1227. The club intends on teaching their members to sew, do multiple do-it-yourself projects, and plan a fashion show by the end of the year. Members do not need to have any experience, just an interest in fashion. The club will be discussing different fashion fields such as fashion journalism, designing, advertising and much more.

By next year, the Fashion Club hopes to volunteer for Fashion Week in Miami.

“You don’t necessarily have to be stylish,” said Co-President, Sergio Lopez, a junior. “You can join to find your style or just learn.”

The meetings will be from 3-4 p.m., and the next meeting will be on January 29. See Ms. Poznac for any questions.
