How long have you been involved with chorus?
“It has been two years now since the school hired me to teach these amazing and talented students.”

“I have been teaching for two years in Santaluces High School. It is the first school I had taught since I had graduated college.”
Where did you graduate?
“I graduated from Florida Atlantic University and it was class of 2016.”
How did you become so passionate about music?
“I learned how to play instruments and read music when I was 13 years old and I immediately fell in love with it. Then, I started giving guitar lessons when I was 16 years old and that helped me further grow my passion for teaching music. I realized that it was fun and interesting showing people how to play, and read and appreciate the art of music. I love playing the guitar and the piano. In college, we learned how to play all the instruments.”
Besides being a teacher and a conductor, what are your hobbies outside of school?
“I love taking pictures, so photography is a hobby of mine. I am a self-taught photographer. I feel that taking pictures is fun and gives me a breath of fresh air away from music.”
What are biggest challenges on becoming a musician and being a music teacher?
“Being a musician, one of the challenges is that it is time consuming and it is a lot of work; however, if you are really passionate about it and force yourself to keep going, then you are right for the job. Being a music teacher, being patient with students is the key to success.”
What is some advice you would give to a student who wants to study music?
“Make sure your heart is in it. Always have passion and emotion when playing instruments or studying music. Never give up on your dreams. Lastly, keep practicing until you perfect your music. There is always going to be room for improvement so practice and study on your free time.”
