What are your New Year resolutions?

What is a New Year’s Resolution? A New Year’s Resolution is “a promise that you make to yourself to start doing something good or stop doing something bad on the first day of the year.” People do New Year’s Resolutions to try and make their life better. For example, you see something you did in the year that wasn’t very good, like procrastinating, so you plan for the new year so that you will have a planner to remind you to do things on time. 

Some examples of New Year’s Resolutions include: losing fifteen pounds, getting a job, saving money, drinking more water, staying organized getting more sleep, getting better grades, getting out of toxic relationships, starting working out, cutting off bad habits like biting your fingernails, being a couch potato, and having negative thoughts.

The benefit of making these plans for yourself is that you can reflect on your past and see how much you’ve progressed. According to a website called bbc.com, “35% of people who made resolutions managed to stick to all of their goals, and 50% of people managed to keep some of their resolutions.”

New Year’s Resolutions originated from ancient Babylonians 4000 years ago. A new year is coming; what are your resolutions going to be?
