In recent years, the fast paced development of artificial intelligence has made people all over the world concerned with the phenomenons potential to lead to the ¨ downfall ¨ of humanity, allowing machines to take over all tasks as humans grow more dependent, lazy, and intellectually inactive.
But, it can be argued that change is an ordinary part of human history and progress. In every era, there have always been people that have raised concern over the rapid evolution of the world. For example, in the 18th century, when photography was first introduced, many people actively campaigned against it. They were concerned that photography would make artists lose their jobs. Obviously, that ended up not being the case, but it goes to show how much change is a natural part of life. No one can live the same moment twice, and every day has its own meaning. Life will always come with the development of new ideas and ways of life that may not seem as necessary at first, but prove to be very useful in the future and contribute to human advancement.
While it’s understandable that accepting artificial intelligence is difficult and going through life’s fluctuations all the time is not easy, resisting change can lead to stagnation. For example, if we were to live the same day over and over again, life would become dull and maybe even worse. Embracing change is how we grow. Sometimes, when you learn something new, it may make you feel bad. We all fall sometimes, but falling down doesn’t make people weaker, it helps people understand themselves. Think about it like this: Before becoming a beautiful butterfly, the butterfly itself has to fight to get out of its comfort zone.
