After a heartbreaking loss to Atlantic High the first week of the season, the Chiefs looked to rebound against Wellington. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen.
The Chiefs got off to a slow start after Wellington High put 13 points up on the board due to some defensive errors and mistakes, but that wasn’t even the end.
Wellington then went on to score another touchdown with 2:50 left in the half, but the extra point kick was blocked. Wellington went into halftime with a 19 point lead over the Chiefs.
After halftime, Wellington sprang out to increase the lead to 26. The Chiefs managed an impressive highlight when quarterback Michael Moise cannoned a deep pass that resulted in a Chief touchdown.
Fortunately, the Chiefs will have a bye-week and will hope to regroup and work on their mistakes and get coach Bradley his first win as a head coach.
“We could’ve played better, we left some plays out on the field and it’s good that we have a bye-week,”said Bradley. “We can capitalize on mistakes we made, and overall we will perform a lot better in the Lake Worth game.”
