Week 3: Inside Varsity Football

Matthew Leto, Sports Editor

The Chiefs played the Cardinal Newman Crusaders this past week with a disappointing 45-6 loss. The Varsity football team will play at home this Friday night against Olympic Heights for Homecoming. Last season, the Chiefs were victorious against Olympic Heights 38-6.

Olympic Heights is 2-0 this season, after wins against Jupiter and Spanish River. The Chiefs have a great chance to get their first victory and change the direction of the season. Sophomore quarterback Arthur Gray Jr. will likely start under center, and may have a tremendous night connecting to Seniors Bradley Toussaint and Kendyl Williams.

Defensively, the Chiefs should come in fierce, physical and prepared to shut down the Olympic Heights offense. Seniors Raymone Bailey and Sidney Guillaume should contribute heavily on Friday night, through hard hits. The red and white are ready to start off the season 1-2.

Senior Bradley Toussaint chimmed in on this week’s game.

“We are one big family, and we will recover from these two losses,” said Toussaint.”If we can get support from the stands, it should pump us up for a victory.”
