Inside Varsity Football: Week 6

Matthew Leto, Sports Editor

The Chiefs played Boca Raton this past week with a 37-0 loss. The Varsity football team will play at home this Friday night against the Lake Worth Trojans. Last season, the Chiefs were able to defeat Lake Worth 7-3.

Lake Worth has victories against Forest Hill, and Spanish River. The Chiefs face a tough opponent this upcoming week. Lake Worth star defensive player Jonathan Garvin who is committed to the University of Miami, should keep the Chief’s offensive line on their heels. Sophomore quarterback Arthur Gray Jr. or Senior Marquise Jackson will likely start under center, and may have a fantastic night connecting to offensive machines Bradley Toussaint and Kendyl Williams.

Defensively, the Chiefs should come ready to compete against Lake Worth. Additionally, Seniors Raymond Bailey, Alex Padilla and Miguel Ebersold, should contribute heavily and keep Lake Worth’s offensive struggling Friday night.

Senior Olajuwon Theodore chimed in on this week’s exciting matchup.

“This week we are prepared to make a statement,” Theodore said. “This is a must win game, nothing else.”
