Chiefs Soccer: Dominates Districts

The Santaluces boys soccer team played their first district game against Seminole Ridge Monday night. The chiefs were tied during first quarter 1-1. They then took the lead 2-1 towards the end of the half. During the second half, they managed to take control of the game and score three more goals giving them the lead of 5-1.
After their win, they played against Palm Beach Central on Wednesday night. During the first half, they scored 1-0, giving them the lead. During the second half, they scored four more goals winning the game 5-0. This makes them first place in the rankings of districts. They will now move on to the finals this Friday. They will go up against Park Vista and the winning team will win districts and go to regionals.
Tenth grader, Anthony Gomez, was the MVP of the Monday night game. He managed to score three goals that night and he was very proud,
“The goals felt amazing. I didn’t think I was going to score three goals today. I’ve been playing since I was five and this is my first year on varsity. I think our team this year is really good and I hope that we can win districts this year. I hope that we can finally win it for the first time in history.”
Captain of the team 12th grader, Alejandro Castaing, is excited for his team going to finals this year,
“Ive been playing sine I was seven years old and I’ve been playing on the varsity team for two years. The team didn’t have that good of a start but right now were into the semi finals of districts, so I think were looking good. We can win this. This is my first year being captain, I’m proud and excited from the support of my coaches and teammates.”
