Trinity Macaluso
I have much to be thankful for, but right now, I find myself eminently thankful for my brother. He’s almost exactly three years younger than me, but we’ve always been close. He’s the person I hang out with when I’m tired of the rest of my family, and the one I tell first when I find a new band. He’s the person I binge-watch Jane the Virgin with, and the person I drive to the beach with in the middle of a storm, to see the waves almost toppling over the seawall. He is undoubtedly the funniest person I know. There are people you can count on to make you feel better, and people you can count on to be honest, and my brother is the latter. I think this is the greater of the two, because when what he says does make me feel better, I know he’s saying it because he truly means it, and that makes all the difference. So this year, I am thankful for a brother who remains one of my closest friends, and who I can rely on for truth and adventure and good music.
