“My favorite memory by far is when me and the rest of the JV cheerleaders won against Boynton High’s cheerleaders in a cheer off. During halftime, their cheerleaders started to come for us, and we had to show them that we were better than them so we had a cheer off. The battle cheers were my favorite part, especially the “You get no respect in here/ who’s that trying to step to us” one. We really thought it was cute for them to think they could win. When you have a cheer off you’re filled with so much adrenaline, and it almost feels like you’re in the movie Bring It On. To have participated in my first cheer off was something I’ll never forget and it’s a story I will always tell.”
