How many years have you been teaching?

“It is crazy but this is my first year teaching high school; however, I have been teaching privately and in groups for about three years now.”

Where did you graduate?

“I graduated from Florida Atlantic University”

How did you become so passionate about music/making music?

“I honestly feel like I never had a choice in the matter; it was always the one thing that interested me and gave me a particular feeling that I couldn’t find in any other activity.”

Besides being a teacher and a creator, what are your hobbies outside of school?

“Besides being a teacher I am a singer, songwriter and a bass guitarist.”

What are biggest challenges on becoming a musician and being a music teacher?

“The biggest challenge of being a musician varies depending on the person, but challenges include networking, business sense, and time management.”

What is some advice you would give to a student who wants to study music or make music?

“The best way to learn music is the way that works best for you; there is no proven “best way.” Never let someone tell you that you need to go to college and study music. If you feel like sitting in your room and making music for 8 hours a day works better for you, then do it.”
