Chiefs Drop Regular Season Opener

Senior Kyle Swaters fires a fastball by the batter.

The Chiefs dropped the opening regular season game to American Heritage by the score of 2-8. Sophomore Jared Petronis drove in two runs and Junior Matthew Restivo went 3-4.

The Chiefs’ offense was slow and lackluster until the 6th inning, Petronis hit a two-run triple to get the Chiefs on the board.

Junior A.J. Orrico went 1-2 with two walks.

The Chiefs pitching struggled most of the game with senior Malik Lissone giving up 6 runs in 3 and 2/3 innings. Senior Hakim Williams allowed 2 runs in 2 innings, while senior Kyle Swaters pitched a shutout 7th inning.

The Chiefs will face Jupiter in the third game of the Santaluces Slam tonight at 6:30.
