Lady Chiefs Basketball Banquet

March 6, 2017

Our Lady Chiefs took this basketball season and made it one of their best, and I was able to witness this first hand as the manager for the JV team.

These girls put in a huge amount of effort and it took them far this season. Beginning their practice in March 2016 and continuing through the summer and fall conditioning, the Lady Chiefs played outstanding offense and defense.

JV led their record to 15-5, recovering from a weak season in 2015 having a record of 4-0, leaving the county and other schools surprised.

“This year was a very rewarding and successful year,”said Varsity Coach Price. “It was exciting to see the girls hard work pay off, see them come together as a unit, and enjoy the game together. We look forward to making it a habit to have a winning season!”

Both JV and Varsity enjoyed this season and cannot wait till the fall of 2017 to get back on the court. Saying goodbye to four seniors this year, Stephanie Christophe, Ebony Mclaurin , Kayla Schwingle , Angela Andrews.

“It was a amazing journey this year to see the progression and growth of these ladies. I had the pleasure in coaching them. What I loved the most about this season was the resiliency of this team through the challenges and successes. I appreciate the oppurtunity I had to coach the JV team.” said Coach Randy.

And as for myself, managing JV was really an exciting moment of my senior year. I had no idea that I would be taking place in something like this, it was so much fun watching the girls play, supporting them every step of the way and help guide those who would like to mange the teams next year. Both JV and Varsity have worked so hard, building them closer and stronger to the game. I can’t wait to see both teams make it to the top next season.
