Bernie Sanders

Sanders wants to fix the prison system by abolishing the death penalty, ending cash bail, and eliminating private prisons. In terms of education, Sanders hopes to restrict charter school growth, make college free for all, cancel all student debt, instate universal free meals in schools, and boost teacher pay. He believes in rent control and taxes to curb speculation, slashing the defense budget, raising taxes on the wealthy, and creating new social programs, including Medicare for all. Sanders wishes to raise the federal minimum wage to $15/hour and he supports several months of broad paid leave. He also believes that the Electoral College should be eliminated. Socially, Sanders is in favor of universal background checks for guns, with few limits, if any, on abortion, and the legalization of marijauna. He also wants to reduce carbon emissions by imposing government regulations.
