Ms. Matuella

My favorite teacher at Santaluces is Ms. Matuella, and I have many reasons for her being my favorite teacher. Ms. Matuella aka Ms. M was my teacher for AVID my freshman year. For me, my freshman year was really hard because I was taking AP classes, and classes that were above my grade level, not to mention this was my first year of high school. Throughout the whole year, Ms. M helped me in every possible way. Whether it was the drama, the family issues, or struggling in classes. I never would have thought that I would have gotten so close to a teacher so fast. By the end of the year, I knew she would always be there for me. My sophomore year in AVID, I didn’t have Ms. Matuella but I would still go and talk to her if I needed her help with something. Honestly, by the end of my sophomore year, Ms. M became my favorite teacher because she was there for me in ways no other teacher would be.

In my junior and senior years, I have her for AVID as well. Throughout both these years, she helped me figure out my plans for college, and fix any other problems I had, whether they were at home or at school. I am so thankful for Ms. Matuella for truly being the best teacher I could ever ask for. I don’t know how my life in school would have been without her. She helped me get to where I am at today and I am so grateful for that. Even when I need her after school hours she will still get back to me as soon as she can. Ms. Matuella does everything in her power to help her students and I am so thankful to have had her as a teacher for three years at Santaluces.
