As soon as the last bite of Thanksgiving feasts were taken, Christmas was already peeking around the corner, ready to take over with it’s decorations, music, movies, and christmas specials.
ABC family started their countdown to the jolly man’s arrival with their lineup of beloved Christmas movies. Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas kicked off December with its tale of a cantankerous, green “What” with a heart two sizes two small who despises the town full of Whos and their overzealous obsession with Christmas. ABC Family continued their Christmas spree on Monday with The Santa Claus, featuring Tim Allen as the guy who accidentally kills Santa Claus and takes on the duty of the red coat.
ABC Family will air the usual Christmas movies, such as the Polar Express, The Year Without a Santa Claus, Scrooged, along with their original movies, Holiday in Handcuffs, Hollidaze, and The Mistle Tones.
The Kardashian clan already pulled out their Christmas special, in which they all gathered in silk pajamas and opened gifts and watched family home videos. Then during the other part of the special, the family started planning their next family Christmas card, shot by eccentric photographer David LaChapelle. The family contemplated having a girls-only photo shoot because of the current situations with the men in the family: Rob’s insecurity, Kanye’s touring, Lamar being “busy,” and Bruce and Kris’ separation. Ultimately, Bruce was included in the outlandish shoot, which featured the family posing amidst a background of a casino fluttered with broken mannequins, tabloids, and sketches of the sisters along the walls.
On December 4th, NBC will air it’s Christmas in Rockefellar Center with an array of performances from Mariah Carey, Kelly Clarkson, Goo Goo Dolls, Ariana Grande and Toni Braxton. The telecast will also show the lighting of the “most famous tree” to bring about the spirit of the holidays.
Following Christmas in Rockefellar Center, NBC will air an SNL special featuring past sketches related to the holidays, like Adam Sandler’s “Hanukkah Song,” and the Justin Timberlake and Andy Samberg song about a certain present in a box.
NBC will air other Christmas specials leading up to the merry day, such as Kelly Clarkson’s Cautionary Christmas Music Tale on December 11th and Michael Buble’s Christmas on December 18th along with Home for the holidays with Celine Dion on the same day.
