Even though Valentine’s day has already passed, February is still the month of expressing love, so today I’ll be listing some songs I listen to that express love.
First, I would like to talk about the song “Infrunami” by Steve Lacy. This song describes the desire for love from a person who is already in a relationship. Throughout the song, Steve Lacy’s voice emphasizes each note to show his need for this person and how foolish he was to let go of them when he had the chance.
The next song I would like to talk about is “Palace/Curse” by The Internet, Tyler The Creator, and Steve Lacy. The second part of the song is the part that I really want to emphasize. This part of the song makes you develop a feeling of being under the curse of another person – especially in the line, “Baby, you made me believe I could fall in love at first sight. How you stopped me with your Body, I’m under your curse.” This really shows how love can take over you and cam make you feel a way you’ve never felt before.
The last song I would like to talk about is “Overtime” by Bryson Tiller. Although this song is a little toxic-with lyrics talking about how he wants a woman to leave her significant other and get with him-it still shows how much work he puts into gaining the attention of this woman. The lyrics state that,“I’ve been working OT (Overtime) tryna show you what it’s like just to know me, and ever since that day you approached me, I been thinking bout you and you only. I break the bank for you, til no money left.” These song lyrics show how forceful the feeling of love over this woman has had on him.
