Sometimes, the excitement of Halloween has the possibility to put safety on the back burner. However, these three tips are important to keep in mind.
1. Stay with a group of friends.
It’s dark outside, you’re a teenager, and you’re walking around where there may be many other people you don’t know. Girls and boys, the best way to stay safe is by having your friends nearby, so if anything happens, you will be with people you trust.
2. Don’t go in unknown neighborhoods.
Going in neighborhoods you aren’t familiar with isn’t the best idea. Either go with a friend that knows the area or do not go at all. The last thing you need is to get lost on a night like this, or wander into somewhere you shouldn’t be.
3. Be aware of your surroundings.
Keep in mind that you are walking on the street, and it’s easy for someone to not see you on the road. Always be aware of what is around you. For example, look left and right before you cross or just walk on the sidewalk. You should know who and what is around you.
Although there are many safety tips that go along with this scary holiday, the number one rule is to just have fun.
