Senior Chiefs attended the annual Historically Black College & University (HBCU) and Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) tour at the Palm Beach County Convention Center on January 22nd . Students were able to speak with representatives from colleges and universities such as Bethune-Cookman, Florida A&M, Barry, St. Augustine, Palm Beach State College and Florida Atlantic University.
Several of the seniors who attended left with automatic acceptance and a few scholarships. That’s why guidance recommended that students bring their resumes and transcripts.
The students were given a LEE and had a bus take them to the Palm Beach Convention Center. The tour lasted from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M.
“I liked it,” said Krystal Collins 12th grade. “We as minorities got the ability to talk and meet with college representatives. Most of us got college acceptances on the spot.”
Collins was accepted into Bethune Cookman University and Saint Augustine University.
