Ethan Jayne, Staff Writer
Hi! My name is Ethan Jayne and this is my first year in newspaper. I am currently a senior and I’m looking forward to writing for The Tribe, writing articles from college football to student life. I am involved in many extracurriculars, from being the president of Key Club to being involved in National Honor Society and the Social Studies Honor Society, Rho Kappa. I plan on attending Florida State University next year to major in meteorology and minor in journalism. One of my favorite things to do is watch my favorite team, Notre Dame, play football in the fall.
Madison Elia, Co-Editor
Hi! My name is Madison Elia. I am a senior this year. This will be my first year on the Tribe. I am taking over as the Co-Editor and Photographer, capturing all the exciting moments in Chief sports and the events at Santaluces for the 2018-19 school year. Golf at Santaluces is unheard of but if you did not know, we actually have a team. I have been the Girls Varsity golf player for all 4 years and have qualified for Districts and Regionals each year. For the past 3 years, I have played by myself as an individual for Santaluces. I love representing the school any way I can even in such a unique sport. I look forward to this upcoming school year and the challenges each day will bring along with forming stronger friendships and creating a more passionate feeling towards going to school each day with a purpose to do something great.
Christopher Vargas, Staff Writer
My name is Christopher Vargas, editor of the entertainment section of The Tribe. This is my first year in newspaper and I’m already liking the class. My favorite things to do are to participate in my debate team and going to competitions. I also love horror; anything horror related immediately sparks my interest. So expect horror movie reviews from me. I’ll make sure to review every horror movie I can. You can count on me to review movies or the latest gaming news throughout the year.
Nia Ford, Photo Editor
Hi, my name is Nia and I am in my final year of high school. I am photo editor of this newspaper. I like hanging out with my friends and watching YouTube and Netflix. Also I do really like to read and am pretty proud that I can finish a book in a few days if I try. I am really excited for this year because this is my senior year so I want to make memories and have fun. Even though this is my first year being on the newspaper staff, I have high hopes about all of the things we are going to produce this year. I have been interested in photography for a few years now so this is a great way to get more into it. I would actually consider photography a passion of mine that I want to continue doing in the future because I find it a relaxing way to express my creativity. I am in the Visual Art Academy and have been for the past three years in photography and photoshop classes and have really enjoyed them, so much so that I am now co-president of National Art Honor Society. My goal is to go to Florida A&M University and eventually a medical school to become a surgeon.
Wanisha Thomas, Features Editor
Hi! I'm Wanisha and I'm a Senior. My focus in my first year in Journalism will be the lifestyles of teachers, students and faculty on the Santaluces campus. I’m excited to put my outgoing personality to use and have it pour into my writing. I’m heavily involved in different clubs such as Student Government, Key Club, Link Crew and Cheer. I enjoy working with children as I volunteer at my Youth ministry’s daycare and I am a mentor at Starlight Cove Elementary. My long term goal is to become a neonatologist, a doctor for premature babies.
