This Science National Honor Society hosted their annual induction ceremony to welcome their new members. SNHS is an academic nationwide club focused on science for high school students within the United States. This honor society was created in 2000 in hopes to encourage science in schools in this technology dependent world.
This year the Science National Honor Society got a new adviser due to their former adviser no longer attending Santaluces. The club obtained a new adviser, Biology teacher Mr.Senath had take on the opportunity to help guide the SNHS members, he has high aspirations for the club this year and those who apart of running the club,
“I hope to spread the word about science and hopefully get others invested in science because we definitely need people out there that are bright and ambitious in the science field so that they can change the world. This is my first year doing this so I hope I can expand it beyond what it used to be and we can push this forward and get many many more involved.”
President of SNHS also has similar intentions for the club this year,
“My name is Macie Binda, I am president of SNHS for the 2018 to 2019 school year. For this year, I hope for more participation in the club as well as more on campus participation in activities concerning science.”
The ceremony began with Mr.Senath introducing himself to the inductees parents followed by the officers of SNHS speaking on behalf of the club. Historian Nicola Ramella, treasurer Isabella Botero, Vice President Alayna Reddick and President Macie Binda spoke about their roles in the club and their excitement for the futures activities planned. The inductees then received their certificates making them an official member of the Science National Honor Society. This was celebrated with food, cake and congratulations.
