Do you enjoy performing, dancing, making music, or learning new skills? The Santaluces Marching Chiefs are searching for new members for the upcoming school year. The Marching Chiefs consist of wind players, percussion, and color guard.
The Marching Chiefs perform at all home football games, as well as local and state competitions. In fact, this year the Marching Chiefs may be traveling to Daytona for the first time in seven years to attend State Championships. The band is a State Champion for several years and is known across the state, while the Winter Guard is a World Champion and a 6-time World Finalist.
The Marching Chiefs are holding band camps throughout the summer, beginning with June 15-17 from 9 am-3 pm, then July 6-July 8 from 9 am-3 pm, and finally, a two week band camp during the weeks of July 27 and August 3 (these dates and times are tentative and depend on the current situation).
In addition to the fall season, the band program also offers three indoor activities, including winter guard, concert band, and–for the first time in several years–winter percussion. Joining marching band can also count as a P.E. credit and is an awesome way to get the required community service hours through the many volunteer experiences that are offered.
The Marching Chiefs offer something for everyone, whether you like banging on a drum, tossing a flag, learning a new instrument, or conditioning on the field. Joining the Marching Chiefs will result in many memories and lifelong friends that will make your high school experience positively memorable.
