Relay for Life is a cancer awareness fundraiser that honors those who have or had cancer and their loved ones. The money raised from the event helps treat people who are battling cancer. Several of Santaluces’ clubs volunteer to help host and fundraise at Relay for Life each year. The event took place at the South Florida Fairgrounds and lasted from 4 pm to 9 pm. The fair had many tables and booths filled with activities from different volunteering schools.
An important part of Relay for Life is the luminaria ceremony, which is a silent walk to honor those who’ve survived cancer and died from it. This year was my 2nd time participating in the relay, and I loved every bit of it. I’m glad I went this year, and I encourage everyone to attend next year.
