Recently, I had the opportunity to interview my best friend here at Santaluces, Anyla Deveaux. Anyla is very active in our school activities and events. Here are some of the questions I asked her:
What part of senior year are you most excited about?
“I am most excited to go to Grad Bash because I enjoy Universal Studios and I’ve been wanting to go ever since I was little.”
What do you like best about Santaluces?
“I love coming to school and seeing my friends while getting my education.”
What are some of your favorite classes?
“My favorite classes are Student Government Association, Economics with Mr. Winkles, and gym class.”
What are some of your favorite memories at Santaluces?
“My favorite memories at Santaluces was the haunted house this year, going to New Orleans for the football game last year and the spirit week that took place during my sophomore year.”
If you could go back to your freshman year, is there anything you would change?
“I would care more about my grades and tell myself to keep my GPA as high as possible and be myself.”
What are your plans after high school ?
“To go to the military and work my way up to become an air traffic controller for the Air Force.”
Do you participate in any clubs or sports? Which ones?
“I am SGA’s 2024-2025 Secretary, and I also partake in Cheerleading for football and basketball season.”
How long have you been cheering?
“I’ve been cheering for 3 years in high school.”
What do you love most about cheerleading?
“I love being able to build bonds with all of the girls and be apart of something I love doing.”
What advice would you give to incoming freshmen who want to play high school sports?
“Keep pushing, try hard and don’t let anything stop you from being your greatest.”
