Freida McFadden is a New York Times bestselling author for a reason. She is 45 years old and she’s written 32 sublime books. Her thriller works never fail to keep you on the edge of your seat, and every sentence is utterly riveting. Her horror novels, written in women’s perspectives, shine a new light on cliche terror.

Many people find her work extremely impressive. “Her books have more twists than a corkscrew” was a quote that was highlighted on the cover of “The Boyfriend.” (Read about The Boyfriend on my page).

One of my favourite books is called “The Perfect Son.” Its pages consist of a story about a suburban mum who seems to have it all: a loving husband, and a beautiful son and daughter. As the story goes on, Erica Cass starts to have a realization. Maybe her son isn’t as perfect as she thought he was. Tall, handsome, and stellarly intelligent on the outside, but what was he like on the inside? Erica’s thoughts grew more morbid as the book progressed, and after Liam got arrested for the murder of young Olivia, Erica was sure her son wasn’t well.

The plot twists in “The Perfect Son” are heart-stopping and jaw-dropping. I’ve read many books, and sometimes it feels like a challenge just to keep interest in them, but not with Freida McFadden’s books. From the second you read the first page to the second you set it down, I can assure you, no moment is without thrill.

Freida McFadden is one of the most incredible authors I’ve ever come across, and I strongly suggest reading “The Perfect Son,” or any one of her other books.
