Daylin and I had the pleasure of interviewing one of our favorite teachers here at Santaluces, Mrs Huston! We asked her some questions to get to know her teaching and here’s how it went:

What has been your biggest accomplishment this year?
“Helping my ESOL students and ESE students raise their scores.”
What did you experience/learn that will benefit you moving towards the new school year?
“To slow down so that all students can understand the material regardless of the language barrier.”
How do students typically engage in class?
“Actively making eye contact, taking notes, using highlighters, and asking questions.”
What do your planning periods consist of?
“Making copies, planning exciting labs and lessons, grading, calling parents, and helping out whenever kids need extra time on their assignments.”
What is one of your biggest classroom rules and why?
“Put your phone away, so you can focus on the material.”
