It wasn’t too long ago that Marvel Studios’ first film Iron Man came out in 2008 and audiences wondered if one huge cinematic universe could work. Fast forward six years later and Marvel Studios is one of the most successful movie studios and has already announced their plans leading up to 2019.
Known as “phase 3,” Marvel’s roster of movies after Avengers: Age of Ultron and Ant-Man has been revealed along with the story lines that would be adapted from the comics. Ant-Man was meant to kick off “phase 3,” but with the load of films there is no wondering why it was changed to being the closing film of “phase 2.”
Captain America 3: Civil War will hit theaters May sixth, 2016; Doctor Strange starring Benedict Cumberbatch will be released November fourth, 2016. The inter-galactic adventures of Guardians of the Galaxy will continue May 5, 2017; Thor: Ragnarok will release July 28, 2017, and Black Panther will come along November 3, 2017.
It’s not over for the Avengers films, with the first part of the sequel Avengers: Infinity War releasing on May 4, 2018. After that, audiences will get to see a female heroin receive her own film in Captain Marvel on July 18, 2018. A new team will then form in the cinematic universe, known as the Inhumans. “Phase 3” will then end with the second part of Avengers: Infinity War, on May third, 2019.
The future doesn’t look so bad with Marvel releasing these action-packed movies that everyone will love.
