On May 12, 2025 Wingstop came out with a new flavor of their famous wings, called “Mexican Street Spice.” This new flavor is said to be inspired by the taste of Mexican street corn and is only available for a limited time.
According to Wingstop, this distinctive new flavor brings together a blend of spices, parmesan cheese, and a hint of lime. Mexican Street Spice can be sauced and tossed on Wingstop’s classic wings, as well as the new crispy tenders and chicken sandwich.
Due to this new flavors release, Wingstop will also offer Mexican Street Spice seasoning on its famous fried corn and french fries for the ultimate flavor experience.
Wingstop’s Chief Revenue Officer, Mark Christenson, says, “Only Wingstop, the Flavor Experts, could take the taste of Mexican street corn and turn it into an unexpected and craveable wing flavor.” “A huge hit in testing, Mexican Street Spice is an iconic summer flavor that’s designed to elevate the fan experience and attract a new wave of flavor fans.”
Our Thoughts
My friends and I were excited to try out this new flavor, and here were our reactions:
Alex Osorio: “While don’t get me wrong, this is a good flavor, it just does not capture the authentic flavor of Mexican street corn. The flavor is more of an enhanced garlic parmesan dry rub with hints of lime. Overall, I would rate it a 7/10.”
Dan Dinh: “To be completely honest, the flavor did not taste anything like Mexican street spice or corn, and was mainly overpowered by the garlic parmesan. While I feel the chicken carries the actual flavor more than the seasoning, I would try it again, but it is not something I would order again.”
Steven Clairvoyant: “The flavor was good, but I didn’t taste any Mexican Spice. To me, it lacks the spice that is usually associated with Mexican street corn. It’s still a good flavor, and I would give it an 8/10.”
