This week, I had the privilege to interview Raquel Sebastian, an athlete at Santaluces High School. Raquel is currently in her Junior year and plays Defense Corner on the flag football team. She has been playing flag football since her Freshman year and hopes to continue playing until her Senior year. I’ve had the experience of playing by her side during our annual powderpuff game, I can say that she brings fire and encouragement to her team!
Raquel’s biggest supporters are her family, who support her goals and achievements. Academics-wise, after graduating high school, she plans on attending Palm Beach State College to eventually become a firefighter and dental hygienist. She also participates in the Student Government Association (SGA), National Honors Society (NHS), Latinos in Action (LIA), as well as Key Club.
She shared, “My favorite part of the sport is my coaches, Coach Lu and Coach Coe. As well as, my teammates and how easily we bond and all together just make a great team.” Raquel is only one of the many great players we have on our Santaluces Flag team. Make sure to watch out for these Lady Chiefs in their upcoming season!
