“I started volleyball when I was in 6th grade and I’ve been playing it for three years now. My friend Alicia, who was doing rec volleyball at the time, introduced me to it. She had me try out, and surprisingly, I made the team. I would practice every weekend when I had time outside of my school work. My biggest inspiration would have to be my coach because he is amazing at volleyball. When he jumps, it amazes me how much height he can get and how he is able to spike the ball really hard. For me, volleyball is a huge stress reliever. When I’m out on the court, my focus goes directly on volleyball and nothing else. It’s a fun and competitive sport that I can play with my friends and is like no other sport.”

Hello!
My name is Richard Dye and I'm a freshman at Santaluces High School. This is my first year in newspaper and I'm looking forward to sharing with you the current events that are happening outside of your busy schedules. Other than that, I'm 14 years old and was born in Taiwan, but I grew up in Florida my whole life. I am just your average teenager. My hobbies include sleeping, eating, being with friends and family, and sports. You know, the normal life of a fellow teen. I hope to intrigue and entertain you with my stories and hope you learn something out of it.
