Last anime season was a serious heartbreaker for many anime fans – shows such as Tokyo Ghoul, Terror on Resonance, and Blue Spring Ride left many of its viewers in tears with their heart-wrenching endings. This season, however, is highly anticipated for its action and adventure.
This season starts off with anime like Parasyte, The Seven Deadly Sins, Psycho-Pass, World Trigger, Fate/Stay Night and Rage of Bahamut: Genesis. Here’s a brief synopsis and review of the four most anticipated anime that are to premiere this season.
Parasyte starts off with 17 year old Shinichi Izumi, who lives an average life and lives in a quiet neighborhood. One night, a worm-like alien creature called a “Parasite” tries to crawl into Shinichi’s ear and tries to take over his brain but fails, instead taking over his right arm. With the help of Migi, the parasite, Shinichi’s perspective has been completely altered with his new knowledge of the parasites and what they are capable of.
The animation is incredible and the details of the parasites when they infect human brains is flawless and creepy at the same time. The soundtrack is definitely a 10 out of 10 – the hardcore opening goes with the storyline perfectly and goes with Shinichi and Migi’s developing friendship. So far, this anime is definitely worth the wait and should be given a shot.
The Seven Deadly Sins is about the baddest criminals in Liones who are accused of trying to overthrow the king and the government. The Seven Deadly Sins aren’t at all bad though, they were really framed by the “holy” knights, who have brought a new order into the kingdom of Liones. Princess Elizabeth finds out that the holy knights are no good and, with the help of Meliodas, the leader of the band, start an adventure to restore justice to Liones.
This anime is for people who love adventure and comedy. Meliodas and his side kick pig are the funniest characters and Meliodas’ nonchalant attitude will have you laughing the entire time. It’s really something that should be watched this season because its just all around fun.
Psycho-Pass takes place in an authoritarian future dystopia, where omnipresent public sensors continuously scan the mental state and personality of every citizen in range, as well as the citizen’s probability to commit a crime. The sensors also authorities when someone exceeds accepted norms. The story follows Akane Tsunemori, and other members of the Public Safety Bureau’s Criminal Investigation Division, and he investigates different crimes.
The opening credits are stunning, visually and audibly. The animation for the series are more refined than season one. In short, Psycho-Pass is one anime this season that must be given a chance.
In Rage of Bahamut: Genesis, Mistarcia is a magical world where humans, Gods, and demons live together. In the past, the black-and-silver winged Bahamut threatened to destroy the land, but the humans, Gods, and demons overcame their differences and fought together to trap the Bahamut’s power in a seal. The key to that seal was split in two, one half given to the Gods and the other to demons, so that they could not unite and Bahamut would not be released. Now, two thousand years later, the world is in an era of peace, until one day a demon woman steals the God’s half of the key.
The best anime released this season would have be this one, the animation is top notch. The details put into each character is so intricate and brings back the terror on resonance animation. The opening is so hardcore, it fits exactly with what the show is about. Honestly, just everything about this show is so wonderful and so enjoyable.
This season of anime is promising a lot of adventure and laughs, and you won’t be disappointed with these shows.
