This part of season six starts off with participants from Miyagi-Do, Cobra Kai, and other world-famous karate dojos competing in the Sekai Taikai, a global tournament to determine the best dojo. Miyagi-Do was surprised to see Tory siding with Cobra Kai, especially given their history. They felt betrayed, which is understandable, but her mom had just died, and they didn’t seem to acknowledge how she felt. Robby and Tory talked for the first time since her mom’s death and decided to take a break.
Later, the tournament began. Miyagi-Do performed horribly, while Cobra Kai was amazing. There were still other parts of the tournament, including the elimination round, so Miyagi-Do had to refocus. However, Daniel wasn’t present because he was investigating Miyagi’s past involvement in the Sekai Taikai but ended up being kidnapped. Meanwhile, Miyagi-Do was struggling against both Cobra Kai and the Iron Dragons, with Miguel being their only strong performer. This made Robby’s role as captain seem unfair. Robby was distracted by Tory, but the team eventually realized they needed a new technique and began to improve. Daniel managed to escape and, believing Kreese was responsible for his kidnapping, sought revenge.
Miguel and Johnny had to leave the tournament temporarily because Carmen was experiencing serious medical issues. They invited Kenny to replace Miguel, though it took a lot of convincing. After one segment of the tournament, the teams went to a club to celebrate, where Cobra Kai was also present. Chozen and Kim went to confront them, but the encounter turned into a moment of connection between the two, sparking their love story.
Elsewhere, Demetri cheated on Yasmin, and Robby believed Kwon and Tory were getting together. As a result, Robby became involved with Zara, but he was under the influence, making the situation a form of assault. Eventually, Carmen’s health issues were resolved, and Miguel and Johnny returned to help the team win the tournament. Chozen, Kim, Daniel, Johnny, and Kreese later met to investigate Daniel’s kidnapper, only to discover that the person behind it was not Kreese but Silver.
They found out that Silver had been working with the Iron Dragons and was the one who created the dojo. Everyone was shocked to learn that he had never gone to prison. Kenny later returned to the Sekai Taikai, and Devon apologized for taking his spot. However, Hawk and Demetri didn’t trust Kenny and suspected he might betray them to Silver. Meanwhile, Axel from the Iron Dragons had a grudge against Miguel because of his feelings for Sam. Miguel was in his prime this season and started to trust Kenny again after Kenny helped them win.
The team had a heartfelt moment, knowing this would be their last tournament. Robby finally discovered that Tory had never played him and that it was Kwon who had deceived him. Robby and Kwon fought, with Robby defeating Kwon and eliminating Cobra Kai.
Daniel LaRusso learned that Mr. Miyagi had competed in the Sekai Taikai in the past and had eliminated an opponent through a fatal move. This revelation caused Daniel to have nightmares. When someone was caught cheating, their team was disqualified, and Cobra Kai was reinstated. Only the team captains competed against each other. Axel’s grudge against Miguel escalated into a full-blown one-sided feud.
The final rounds of the tournament were broadcast live. Everyone engaged in intense training to prepare, though Daniel remained distracted. In the climactic round, Robby faced Axel but fell. Kwon interfered and tried to attack Robby, prompting Miguel to jump in. Axel then tried to attack Miguel, leading to a massive brawl between all the teams and even the instructors. They attacked the judges and then each other.
Kreese, armed with a knife, attempted to confront Silver, but he dropped the knife along the way and ended up fighting Silver barehanded. Meanwhile, Tori and Sam showcased their growing friendship. Sam was being beaten until Axel intervened to save her. Tori then fought Zara but was overpowered, so Robby stepped in to save her.
Axel and Kwon faced off next. During the fight, Kwon spotted Kreese’s knife on the ground, picked it up, and continued fighting. Daniel tried to stop Kwon to prevent a disaster. However, Kwon attempted to stab Axel but tripped and fell onto the knife, fatally stabbing himself in the heart.
The shocking moment unfolded live on television, leaving everyone horrified. Kwon’s death caused a realization for everyone involved—it had all happened just for karate. The blame appeared to fall heavily on Kreese, making him look particularly guilty.
