Where were you born/ where are you from?
I was born and raised in Washington D.C.
How long have you been teaching; both here at Santaluces and at other schools?
I have only been teaching here at Santaluces and I have been teaching here for three years now.
What made you decide to start teaching?
I like art, and I absolutely love kids. Both of them together make perfect sense
Do you have any hobbies outside of school?
I really enjoy fishing and of course, I still do art; primarily painting.
Where did you go to college?
I attended Florida State University and I initially majored in interior designing! However I was always involved in art and loved it way too much, so I came back to it and I absolutely love it.
Do you have any family members or artists that inspired you to begin art?
Probably my mother; she was a music teacher and she also enjoyed singing.
What advice would you give to young artists that are thinking about giving up on art?
Don’t ever give up. The more you practice on it, the better you get. It all just takes time and you just need to be patient with the process.
What is your favorite thing about Santaluces as a whole?
I really just like the kids. I absolutely love them and I wouldn’t trade them for the world.
