Meet Ms. Sands, one of the coolest teachers at Santaluces High School, and she will be telling you guys a little bit about herself.
“Over the past 18 years, I have dedicated my career to working on residential construction projects. While I do not have a singular favorite television show, I enjoy programs that evoke laughter, such as the Steve Harvey Show.
My academic journey includes obtaining both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree, and I am currently enrolled in trade school to further my expertise as a general contractor. I attended Nova Southeastern University’s Wayne Housing School of Business for my graduate studies.
As a member of Zeta 5 Beta Sorority, I take pride in our commitment to community service and engagement. Our organization emphasizes the importance of service initiatives, believing it essential to invest in and uplift our communities.
Regarding my teaching experience, I have spent 18 years in education, and I treasure numerous memorable moments. One particularly impactful experience involved mentoring a set of twins who, a decade later, reached out to express how the lessons I provided have positively influenced their academic journeys in college. They have both since graduated and are thriving.
Also, to my professional and academic pursuits, I enjoy creative hobbies, particularly designing shoes, which allows me to utilize my artistic instincts. I find self-care practices crucial for my well-being. One of my hobbies includes agriculture, reflecting my passion for cultivating and nurturing plants.
Lastly, I’m a cultural person, so I love all types of food, but, if we want to choose, I love Haitian fried turkey. I also enjoy Peruvian food. While I do cook, I equally enjoy indulging in meals prepared by others, showcasing my appreciation.”
