Save the date! On February 22nd, Capoeira Karkara will be having their annual open house, where family and friends of all ages can come out to enjoy free classes. If you want to learn all about the art of Capoeira, meet instructors, and have fun with the Karkara family, be sure to show up! Here’s what the day will look like:

“We have these sample classes throughout the day. We also show an intro and preview of each of the programs we have,” Sarah explained. She is also known affectionately as “Professora Fominha”, and is the co-owner of Capoeira Karkara. The sample classes are completely free, and individuals who participate will get the chance to meet instructors!
The first class of the open house is the family class, where families can participate together. “My personal favorite is the family class, which I will be teaching with my two beautiful daughters and husband,” Sarah explained to me. Each of these sample classes will be around 45 minutes. Then, there will be a kids class for 4-6 year olds on one side and the class for older children on the other side of the room. Before continuing to the older groups, there will be a demonstration given by the Karkara group, showing off a roda and other aspects of Capoeira. After that, the classes for adults and teenagers will then take place.
Capoeira Karkara is also excited to announce that there will be registration deals for anyone who signs up on the day of the open house. There will also be snacks and refreshments. Sarah told me herself that this is the perfect time for people to come together and check out what Capoeira was about, so experience it and see it for yourself!
“We hope that you can make it to see why Capoeira is such a powerful tool for developing physical and mental strength along with such a vibrant, diverse and welcoming community,” Sarah expressed.
